The generous bowl rests upon the four heads of the Eagles atop the impressive four inch square sterling silver base. There are four small flat areas on the bottom of the bowl so the bowl is secure. In the early 1940's, Steuben Glass designers featured some extraordinarily superb Americana/Patriotic copper wheel engraved Exhibition Pieces. The 7 1/2" wide W141 Transportation Bowl by Sidney Waugh from 1943 is one such example. These museum quality masterworks rarely appear in the marketplace. The Transportation Bowl has three panels depicting a steamboat, early glider/plane and steam engine. This historically important piece is properly signed and in excellent condition.
